About Plug'n Drive - Plug'n Drive Canada

About Plug’n Drive

Plug’n Drive is a not-for-profit organization accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Canada by providing brand-neutral education, hands-on experiences, and strategic insights to consumers, communities, businesses and decision-makers. Our vision is a well-informed Canadian public that understands the environmental and economic benefits of driving electric and is inspired to make the switch.

This year, we are proud to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Since 2011, we have made incredible strides in our mission through a variety of consumer education programs, including the launch of the world’s first Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre (EVDC) in Toronto, the Electric Vehicle Roadshow event series, as well as the Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET). We also deliver EV test-drive experiences at major auto shows across Canada, helping thousands of drivers get behind the wheel each year.

In addition to our public education programs, we work closely with schools, colleges, universities, and workforce development partners to support student learning and career upskilling in the clean transportation sector. Our corporate partnerships span EV auto manufacturers, utilities, EV charger manufacturers, and many others who share our commitment to accelerating Canada’s transition to electric transportation.

EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour

The EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour, partially funded by Natural Resources Canada and championed by RBC, brings EV education and test-drive across Canada with a mix of Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET) events, EV Roadshows, Auto Show Test Drive features, the EV Discovery Centre and the Elocity Satellite location in Toronto, and other community events designed to help Canadians learn about electric vehicles in a hands-on, sales-free environment.

The MEET is a community EV awareness hub that is fully collapsible and transportable. Open May through November each year, the MEET can remain active in one location for weeks or months at a time and comes equipped with informational displays on the benefits of driving electric in Canada and an EV test drive activity.

Electric Vehicle Roadshow

The Electric Vehicle Roadshow operates year-round and has taken Plug’n Drive across Canada on a campaign to increase public awareness of EVs by participating in trade shows, conferences and community events.

Student Learning Program

This fun and informative in-person learning experience teaches students in Ontario about the environmental and economic advantages of electric transportation, career opportunities presented by the growing EV industry, and how this emerging technology is permanently changing the way society moves resources and people.
