Announcing Canada’s Electric Vehicle Industry Leaders

September 18, 2017-PnD

Plug’n Drive and the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) are pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Electric Vehicle Awards. The winners were recognised during an awards reception at the Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre in Toronto.

The Electric Vehicle Awards recognize car dealerships that combine impressive sales, marketing efforts, community outreach activities and point of sale promotions to actively increase the number of electric vehicle customers on the road. Electricity companies are rewarded on the merits and impacts of utility-led electric vehicle programs and initiatives in their service areas.

The winners were selected by a panel of top Canadian electric vehicle industry experts from across the non-profit, academic, automobile and electricity sectors. This year’s winners are:

  • Leading Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Dealership Award: Bourgeois Chevrolet, Québec
  • Leading Battery Electric Vehicle Dealership Award: Campus Nissan, British Columbia
  • Electric Vehicle Dealership Inspiration Award: Green Rock E.V.S., Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Tom Mitchell Electric Vehicle Leadership Award for Utilities: Hydro Québec

Electric vehicles represent the potential for significant emissions reduction. Emitting up to 90 per cent less greenhouse gas emissions than equivalent gas cars, these vehicles are a crucial element in helping Canada meets its climate change action goals.
