Electric Cars Makes Sense

Ontario's electricity sources have very low greenhouse gas emissions - mostly hydro and nuclear. Electricity is also inexpensive, at about 1/6th the price of gas if you charge at night during off-peak. With more than 85 per cent of Ontario commuters travelling less than 25 km a day, a single night-time charge can easily get them to and from work every day. These and other reasons make Ontario a great place to plug in an electric car.

No matter where you are in Canada, electric cars offer both environmental and economic benefits. The extent of these benefits will vary from one region to another depending on the sources of electricity generation and the local prices of gas and electricity.
